Sonoma County Resources

Sonoma Compost takes yard waste from around the county and turns it into great compost. And it's free to school gardens, although you'll need to either collect it yourself in a truck or pay for delivery.

The Occidental Arts and Ecology's School Garden Teacher Training Program has five-day residential programs during the summer for learning the skills needed to start and sustain a school garden program.

The Sonoma County Master Gardeners have an online Help Desk and Monthly Garden Tips. They also offer an intensive three-month training program in horticulture.

The SRJC Shone Farm serves primarily as an outdoor laboratory site for agriculture and natural resource classes. The sustainable agriculture unit provides a hands-on learning laboratory for growing specialty vegetables, herbs, flowers, berry and fruit tree crops.
