Free Seeds for School Gardens

Reminder that SGN has FREE seeds at the SHARE EXCHANGE  thanks to generous donations from Harmony Farm Supply, Renee’s Seeds and Friedman Brothers. The seeds are stored in filing cabinet in the annex next to the retail store. You must get key from the retail store.

Wendy Krupnik and Sara McCamat created a useful  locally adapted planting calendar for IGrow – Year-Round_Growing_Guide. School garden programs may want to tweak the planting schedule slightly and plant summer crops later, at end of May or early June for a fall harvest, and to maximize spring plantings for cooking in the garden.

Now is a good time to direct sow spinach, radishes, turnips, beets, peas, carrots, cilantro, Asian greens, potatoes in the garden. Start inside onions, lettuce, brassicas, chard, leeks, parsley, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant
