Cornell’s Lab of Ornithology is awarding grants between $500 – $2,000 to private and public schools. The purpose of this program is to support the building or revitalization of school gardens, which will then provide the context for lessons across subjects and offer a wonderful opportunity to engage students in hands-on, project-based learning opportunities.
In addition to food gardens, preference will be given to bird, pollinator, native habitat, rain, and other natural projects.
In addition to monetary awards, recipients will receive gardening supplies and the funding agency’s Habitat Conservation kit. Information regarding the Habitat Connection kit can be found online at www.birdsleuth.org/habitat-connections-2/.
